Established in 1972, Goodman Factors joined forces May of 2014 with Independent Bank, a community bank that offers a full range of personal and business banking services primarily in Tennessee. Independent Bank was founded in 1998 and has 10 branches in the Memphis metro area, ranking it as a top 5 depository in Shelby County. Goodman Capital Finance offers factoring and asset-based lending throughout the entire United States, serving staffing agencies, transportation firms, government contractors, manufacturers, distributors, and service companies. Goodman Capital Finance headquarters is in Dallas, Texas.

Keith Reid

Keith began in the factoring business in 1975 upon receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Keith teamed up with Harold Goodman in 1979, and has facilitated the company’s strong growth experienced since such time, much of which has come to us in the form of referrals from our many satisfied current and past clients. Keith’s rich expertise and experience among the retail credit community has served the many clients of Goodman Factors quite well, by averting potential credit losses through effective credit management.

Goodman and its clients, for the greatest part, have been able to avoid massive credit losses experienced by others with the unprecedented number of bankruptcy filings recorded in the last 20 years.

Bret Schuch

Bret joined the company in 1992 in a sales capacity, having spent the previous ten years in the commercial banking industry. Benefiting from his finance background and relationships within the industry, Bret has helped the company to grow ten-fold in the course of his 20 plus year tenure, mainly by expanding Goodman’s market presence to markets outside of Texas, from New York to California and all points between.

Bret serves on multiple boards, including that of a well-known private school in Dallas as well as on the Elder Board of his church.

Jason Cole

Jason has more than 20 years of experience in the commercial finance industry. He believes that the best way to serve entrepreneurs is to bring an entrepreneurial approach to every situation. Having spent significant time in both a small, private firm as well as a large, regulated bank environment, Jason has successfully provided ABL and factoring solutions to companies of all sizes that meet every client’s unique situation and needs.

Francois Bouville

François joined Goodman Capital Finance in February 2018 to co-create its Asset based Lending Division. With 29 years of International Banking and Insurance experience, which includes large A/R financing solutions as well as ABL , it is a perfect opportunity to contribute to GCF’s future growth in this space as well as establishing GCF as the go to lender in the small ticket ABL market. François earned his BA (Honors) in Business Finance from Middlesex University, London – UK. François is a decorated Persian Gulf War Veteran and dedicates a majority of his spare time in co-leading weekends for Veterans to heal by welcoming them home and provide a strong support group through Texas For Heroes / Healing Warrior Hearts. François serves on a number of Boards.

Skylar Lane

Skylar Joined Goodman in 2017 having 7 years of industry experience ranging from underwriting and operations to sales and sales management. Skylar has a vast experience working with businesses in many industries, with his main motivation being to help his clients become as prosperous and successful as possible. While not working Skylar likes to spend time with his wife and two small children. Being a California transplant who loves to surf, Skylar has had to take up other hobbies such as biking and hiking since moving to Austin.

Skylar is a self-proclaimed foodie who greatly enjoys both dining out as well as preparing meals at home.

Janette Merritt

Janette has been a part of the factoring industry for 23 years, having spent the past 20 of those years leading the sales team at Vertex Financial. Her knowledge and experience in all aspects of the transaction has been instrumental in building long lasting relationships with not only her clients but her referral relationships across the United States. She is known for her strong referral partner relationships and connecting them with others. Janette has been an active member in the Commercial Finance Association, The Finance Forum, ACG, International Factoring Association, TMA and Women’s Finance Exchange.

She also has held a seat on several of their boards.

Brice Reid

Brice joined Goodman in 2015 and has a unique advantage of having worked in virtually all areas of the Goodman operation, including roles in collections, funding, and sales and underwriting support, a role in which Brice facilitated the onboarding of dozens of new clients within a variety of industries and funding needs.   Brice now serves as VP – Business Development Officer, where he has experienced a good measure of success forming good relationships with key brokers, existing clients, and other important strategic partners of Goodman.  Brice is a Dallas native and a graduate of Southern Methodist University.

Alexandra Scoggin

Alexandra brings with her 13 years of experience in the factoring industry. Coming from an apparel background, she is able to assist emerging brands that are growing as well as large existing companies. Alexandra’s expertise allows her to work with several other industries that are looking to grow their businesses. Her arms reach from California to New York. Alexandra also donates her time as a guest teacher at CSNU and FIDM, helping the next generation achieve their goals of being business owners. She is a committee and board member of City of Hope, National Jewish Health and Future of Hope. She is also an active member of the International Factoring association, TPC, ACG, Commercial Finance Association and CFCC.

Courtney Garrison

Courtney is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University during which time she split her focus between business and women’s studies, giving her a diverse perspective when analyzing accounts and forming client and co-worker relationships. Courtney began working for Goodman Factors in 1995, and over the last 20 plus years has become highly proficient in almost every operational aspect at Goodman. Always wanting to learn more she utilized her extensive knowledge base to move into a Portfolio Manager role, managing the overall health of over 70 clients. In her time away from work she is busy raising her teenage son who shares her love of music and travel.

Tina King

We at Goodman regard all of our employees as valuable, but Tina arguably embodies that description as much as anyone. Tina’s experience in the factoring industry dates back to the late 1980’s where she served as the Operations Manager of Richards Capital before joining Goodman in 1999. In addition to managing a portfolio at Goodman, Tina also oversees the interfaces with our factoring software provider. Like many of the Goodman employees she wears many hats and is capable of performing virtually any function within the company – each with a high level of proficiency.

Jessie Valdivia

Jessie joined the Goodman Capital Finance Management team in 1998 as Vice President/Business Development Officer. He spent twenty years in that position, developing new business, providing account management, underwriting, creating marketing programs and has been a major part of our growth. In 2018, he was promoted to the position of Portfolio Manager and now oversees account executives, manages client accounts, analyzes credit, and remains very active in past responsibilities. Prior to becoming a Manager at GCF, he spent 10 years heading up an apparel firm, where he gained extensive knowledge in financing, manufacturing, delivery deadlines, credit risk, collections and customer service. Having run a small business, his insight is beneficial to the needs of our clients. Jessie also spent time in sales and management within the transportation industry; this provided him with a solid understanding of the requirements and operations for small, medium and large trucking companies.

Jim Ellis

To call Jim a seasoned veteran of the banking and financing industry would be an understatement. Jim first joined First National Bank in Dallas in 1972, about the same time that Goodman Factors was started. Jim brings a wealth of experience to his duties at Goodman, including an innate ability to solve problems and a strong attention to detail.

Jim is now in his 20th year with Goodman, and he has been an important part of the success that the company has attained.

Goodman has been fortunate to have experienced relatively very little turnover among its employee base, some of whom have been with the company for more than 40 years. This continuity and experience among our very important operational and support staff serve to greatly enhance the level of service we provide to our many valued clients.
